GAME 2: BOX SCORE
BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel Women's Hockey team shined on the ice this weekend with two wins over the College of St. Catherine Wildcats. Both games ended in a 2-1 score favoring the Royals both times.
The Bethel Royals came out shooting in the first period, scoring first at 17:05.
Twenty-eight seconds later, Bethel picked up a two minute interference penalty. However, the Royals then preceded to score a short-handed goal eight seconds into the Wildcat power play. That goal by Bethel's
Cristina Masten (Fr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) was not only her second of the game, but the eventual game winner.
Saturday night's puck game saw the Royals defeat the Wildcats at the Bethel University Arena. With the Royals trailing by one midway through the third,
Biz Huss (So., Beaver Bay, Minn.) found the back of the net with assists from Masten and
Allison Papko (Sr., Winnipeg, Manitoba). Huss' eighth goal of the season would leave the game at a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation.
In the overtime period, Papko put the biscuit in the basket for the victory. She was assisted from Masten.
The Royals now move to 7-3-2 in MIAC play with an overall record of 10-7-2.
