ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Coming off a weekend that saw the Bethel Women's Hockey team drop two games to the University of St. Thomas, the Royals came out with vengeance this weekend to demolish the Augsburg Auggies. In game one, the Royals defeated the Auggies 7-1 and game two by a final of 3-0.
Biz Huss (So., Beaver Bay, Minn.) had a five-point night for Bethel Friday, scoring two goals and adding three an assist.
Cristina Masten (Fr., Fergus Falls, Minn.) tallied two goals with assists, and
Rachael Geng (Jr., South St. Paul, Minn.) and
Allison Papko (Sr., Winnepeg, Manitoba) had two assists as well. The Royals would score the first five goals of the game and cruise to a 7-1 victory.
In Saturday's action, the game was once again all Royals. Papko scored two goals in the winning effort, while Huss had a goal and an assist.
Jess Newstrom stopped all 17 shots she faced for the Royal between the pipes.
The Royals are now tied for third in the conference with a 9-5-2 MIAC record and an overall record of 12-9-2. They will be taking on Hamline University next weekend to close out the regular season.
