BU Can't Finish Concordia University-Wisconsin in 2-1 Loss

Royals can't muster a goal late against hosting Falcons

TOMAHAWK, Wis. – The Royals took on Concordia University-Wisconsin Saturday afternoon in a neutral location at Tomahawk, Wisconsin in a non-conference affair against the 6-4-0 Falcons.  Bethel University took the 1-0 lead initially, but fell in the end 2-1.

Kate Wahlin (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) tallied her third goal of the season with 7:05 remaining in the first period. Wahlin's goal came on an Allison Linde (So., Bloomington, Minn.) and Sarah Kartak (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) assist. For Linde it was her second assist of the season and Kartak recorded her fourth assist.

The Falcons responded, however, with the equalizer at the 18:46-mark in the opening frame. Alyssa Isaackson fired a goal with both sides even that put the game all square at one. Concordia University ratcheted one more goal at the four-minute mark in the second period that proved to be the game-winner.

Throughout the contest Bethel's women's hockey squad outshot the host team 30-23, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons capitalized on more opportunities.

The Royals now take more than a three-week break until it partakes in a heavy MIAC schedule throughout the months of January and February.
