MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Royals continued to battle Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. against the Concordia College Cobbers, yet fell 1-0 due to a Cobber goal with four minutes left in the third period. The Royals out-shot Concordia throughout the entire night, however, remained plagued by the inability to score for the second straight game.
In the first period, BU fired 11 shots towards the Concordia-Moorhead net. The Royals continued hot in the second and third period with 10 and 16 more shots, respectively.
Jack Paul (Jr., Minnetonka, Minn.) continues to lead the Royals in its effort to build wins over scheduled opponents. Paul totaled five shots for Bethel, alongside
EJ Gann (Fr., San Jose, Calif.) and
Tyler Swanson (Fr., Fargo, N.D.), who each posted four slap shots.
Jake Kogler (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.),
Josh Shingler (So., Shawano, Wis.), and
Jimmie Perkins (Fr., Chicago, Ill.) each contributed three shot attempts as well.
Despite one of Bethel's strongest offensive efforts, Concordia was still able to overcome with a goal at the four-minute mark in the third period. The Cobbers goal sunk the Royals 1-0 in hte second of two games over the weekend.
Dan Harper (So., Blaine, Minn.) kept the Cobbers scoreless throughout the first 56 minutes, saving a total of 26 shots throughout the competition.
The Royals are back on the ice in one week as BU faces Northland College at home in a post-Thanksgiving matchup Friday and Saturday at Bethel University Arena.
