NORTHFIELD, Minn. - In dramatic fashion the Bethel Royal's Volleyball team overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Carleton College Knights on Wednesday evening. In the fifth set, the Royals clinched the victory with a 15-13 win and took down the Knights for a memorable conference victory.
After taking the first set by a score of 25-20, the Royals fell behind by losing the next two sets 25-22, and 25-18.
The third set proved to be the momentum changer when the Royals took down the Knights 28-26 to force a decisive fifth and final set in the match.
In the set, the Royals rounded out the night with a 15-13 set victory to take the match 3-2. The event was played at the Skoglund Center at St. Olaf due to flooding at the Carleton College facilities.
Bethel's next match takes place this weekend when they will participate in the Border Battle held at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. The first match begins at 2 p.m. Friday in Dubuque.
