ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Royals faced an NCAA Division II opponent and played some of the best tennis they have played all season, but still came up just short in a 5-4 loss to the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs.

Bethel took a 2-1 lead after doubles play as the tandems of Ashley Dohlen (Sr., Morris, Minn.) and Heather Ritger (Sr., Glenwood, Minn.) as well as Krista Nauman (So., Buffalo, Minn.) and Ashley Watts (Sr., Winona, Minn.) defeated their cross-court opponents.

However, in singles play, Nauman and Watts were the only Royals to emerge victorious as Nauman won 6-4, 3-6, 10-6, and Watts won 6-2, 6-4.

The Royals fall to 3-12 overall with the loss and are scheduled to take on Concordia-Moorhead next Friday at the Public Indoor Tennis facility in Spring Lake Park, Minn., beginning at 5 p.m. for their next match.
