FRIDLEY, Minn. - After only a week of matches, the Bethel women's tennis team had to play one of the toughest teams in the MIAC, Carleton College, who is ranked 28th nationally. The match was held at the Public Indoor Tennis facility on Saturday afternoon.
Although Carleton beat Bethel 8-1, the Royals played hard and made Carleton earn their victory. In singles competition, Carleton won all six matches, but
Krista Nauman (So., Buffalo, Minn.) won seven games against her opponenet and
Ashley Watts (Sr., Winona, Minn.) won five games against her opponent. In doubles competition, Nauman and Watts defeated their opponents 8-5 to put the Royals on the scoreboard.
With the loss, Bethel now sits at 0-3 overall and in conference play, while Carleton improves to 3-0 overall and in the MIAC. The Royals' next match is on Friday when they will take on the University of St. Thomas at the Sports and Recreation Center (SRC). The match is slated to begin at 8 p.m.
