Box Score

BLAINE, Minn.
- Bethel and St. Olaf swapped venues and swapped scores from the day before as the Royals were defeated 3-2 at home today.

The Royals took a 1-0 with less than five minutes left to play in the first period when Rachael Geng (So., So. St. Paul, Minn.) scored with the help of Anna Carlson (So., Roseville, Minn.). Bethel then added to its lead just over three minutes into the second period when Biz Huss (Fr., Beaver Bay, Minn.) scored her first collegiate goal, assisted by Sarah Kartak (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.).

However, St. Olaf rallied to score three unanswered goals - two of them on power plays - and hung on to defeat the Royals at home.

Jess Newstrom (Fr., Cambridge, Minn.) recorded 39 saves on the afternoon, and the Royals were able to fire a flurry of shots of their own in the waning minutes of the game, skating with an extra attacker. Unfortunately, none of the shots made it past the Ole goalie and the two teams split the season series.

Bethel falls to 5-10 overall and 5-5 in the MIAC, while St. Olaf improves to 10-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play. The Royals are scheduled to take on St. Catherine at home on Friday, Feb. 5, beginning at 7 p.m. for their next game.
