ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University women's tennis team played two matches in two days against two Northfield area colleges in Carleton and St. Olaf. Unfortunately, the result was the same in both as the Knights and Oles emerged victorious over the Royals 9-0, 9-0.

Consistency seemed to plague the Royals in their match against Carleton, who is a perennially ranked team in the Central region. Fifth singles player Krista Nauman (Fr., Buffalo, Minn.) fared the best out of any of the Royals, but ultimately fell 6-4, 6-3.

The following day, the Royals hit the ball much better than the score indicated and nearly came away with a win in doubles competition. Nauman and partner Stefanie Erlander (So., Excelsior, Minn.) forced their match to a 9-7 decision, but remained on the short end of that contest.

Bethel falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play with the losses. The Royals are scheduled to take on St. Thomas on the road Saturday, Feb. 28, for their next match beginning at 12:30 p.m. in St. Paul.
