ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- The Bethel Royals came out strong by taking an 11-0 lead over the Saint Mary's Cardinals and never once looked back on their way to a 77-60 win today at the Robertson Center gym.

Bethel led by as many as 30 points during the second half by playing solid defense and making 45 percent of their shots from the floor, as well as 76 percent of their free throw shots.

All-MIAC center Annegret Nautsch (Sr., Everett, Wash.) had a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds in her 24 minutes of play. She was a perfect six-for-six from the floor as well as from the charity stripe. Her performance was followed closely by that of Taylor Sheley (Fr.,  Backus, Minn.), who gave the Royals some strong minutes by scoring 14 points off the bench. Kristin Wolters (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.) was the third Royal to finish in double digit points with 11.

The Cardinals were led by Cherie Kulig with 13 points, while Jesa Hall had 12 and Michelle Carne had 10.

The win is Bethel's first in conference play this season, putting them at 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC. Saint Mary's remains winless at 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
