Six in double figures as Bethel rolls over St. Mary's 103-57

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.- The Bethel University men's basketball earned their 12th win in their last 13 games after a 103-57 dismantling of the Cardinals from St. Mary's tonight at the Robertson Center. With a field goal percentage of over 61% in the first half, the Royals were able to take a 54-25 lead at halftime and never looked back. Bethel finished with six players in double figures and also finished 14-29 from beyond the arc, and 25-28 from the free throw line. St. Mary's couldn't find their shooting touch, as they finished 34.5% from the field and 15% from three point range.

On senior night, Bethel's Wade Blazejak paced the team, dropping in 15 points on 6-8 shooting while also adding four rebounds and three assists. The Royals also had three players with 13 points a piece in Charles Meadowcroft, Mike Moberg, and Chris Vavra. Meadowcroft also pulled down seven boards, while his teammates Cory Laugen and Tim Madson each had 11 and 10 points, respectively. In addition to that, Madson had four rebounds and four assists in only 20 minutes of play. Senior Dean Erickson also had a nice game of eight points and six boards.

St. Mary's had two players in double figures, including Dan Cormier's game high 18 points and five boards. Brensley Haywood also had a nice game of 12 points and five rebounds.

With the win, the Royals record moves to 13-6 in MIAC play and 18-6 overall. Bethel has now earned the third seed in the MIAC playoffs where they will host a first round game against St. Olaf. St. Mary's falls out of playoff contention with the loss, and is 7-12 in the MIAC with a 8-15 overall record. Bethel's final regular season game is this Saturday at Augsburg. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
