    Football Assistant Coach - Outside Linebackers & Defensive Front

Tyler Krebs joined the Bethel coaching staff for the 2021 season as the outside linebackers (edge rushers) coach. Prior to coming to Bethel, Krebs was a high school coach for 25 years including the last nine years as a head coach. He started as an assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Eastview High School, where his teams made three state semifinal appearances. He then became head coach at Burnsville High School, where his teams won a conference championship, won a section championship and made a state tournament appearance for the first time in 20 years. He then took over a Lakeville South program that had a 1-8 record the previous year and led them to a state semifinal appearance within two seasons. Coach Krebs won multiple coach of the year awards. His former players include Rhys Lloyd (Carolina Panthers), Kamal Martin (Green Bay Packers) and Chase Roullier (Washington Commanders).

In four seasons coaching at Bethel, six Bethel outside linebackers have been named to MIAC All-Conference teams. In 2024, Caden DeWall was named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region and First Team All-American. DeWall was awarded the Mike Stam Award as the lineman of the year in the MIAC Conference, led the NCAA in sacks and set new school records for sacks (21.5) and Tackles for Loss (28.5) in a season.

Bethel has played in the NCAA tournament in every season Coach Krebs has been at Bethel including making two national quarterfinals appearances. Bethel also has won a conference championship.

Coach Krebs lives in Lakeville with his wife Ali, his daughter Ava, and his sons Casey and Brady. He is an English, business, technology and art teacher at Lakeville South High School and is also an adjunct professor in education at Bethel University and Capella University.
