Rick Meyer has been the head strength and condition coach at Bethel since 2008. He previously served as an assistant football coach in numerous capacities from 2002 to 2019. This came after a playing career with Bethel from 1998-2001 where he was a two-time All-MIAC defensive end guiding the Royals to a pair of MIAC Championships.

Meyer was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in August of 2024 as the Wellness Center and its staff moved under the athletics structure after previously being overseen by the student life department. In addition to his head strength and conditioning coach duties, Meyer will centralize facilities bringing processes and structures to staffing and scheduling in various spaces.

BETHEL STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
• Oversees strength and conditioning programs for all 18 Royals varsity athletic teams
• Coordinates the weight room while also teaching physical education and athletic training courses
• Involved in the planning and coordination of the brand new Bethel University Wellness Center which opened in October of 2015

ROYAL PLAYING CAREER
• Helped the Royals to MIAC championships in 2000 and 2001
• Two-time MIAC All-Conference defensive end in 2000 and 2001
• Finished his four-year career with 155 tackles and 21.5 sacks
