The 2023-24 season was the first for Rachel Ranke who was named the first-ever full-time assistant coach for the Bethel women's basketball team. A native of Burnsville, Minn., Ranke joins the staff following a successful collegiate career at Kansas State and Central Florida.
Ranke played three seasons at Kansas State where she was named to the 2018 Big 12 All-Freshman Team. Despite suffering an injury her senior year she departed the Wildcats' program with 1,037 career points, which ranked 40th in program history, and tied for sixth on the K-State career list for 3-point field goals made with 230. During the 2022-23 season she transferred to Central Florida in which she started in all 29 games of her redshirt senior season. She led the team in 3-pointers with 53 makes.
In 2021 she also participated in the USA Basketball Red Bull 3X Nationals while winning the 3X East Regional in 2019.
A 2017 graduate of Eastview High School she was a Miss Basketball finalist her senior year. She was a two-time American Family Insurance All-USA Minnesota Girls Basketball First Team and was a McDonald's All-Amiercan nominee. With the Lightning sh was a three-time 4A All-Touranment Team selection, two-time All-State Selection and was the St. Paul Pioneer Press East Metro Player of the Year in 2017. During her four seasons with Eastview, she helped the program to an overall record of 113-14 which included a state tile in 2014, state runner-up finish in 2015 and third place finishes in 2016 and 2017.
