Scott Lauinger is in his fourth season as assistant coach with the Bethel University women's basketball team. He is no stranger to the MIAC as a 1996 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College where he was a stand out basketball star. He holds the school record for career field goal percentage at 62.8 percent (602 of 959) and ranks sixth in field goals made with 602. He graduated as the seventh leading scorer in Gustavus history with a total of 1,490 points, and was the program's leader in blocked shots with 98. In his senior season he was named the MIAC MVP and was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Region First Team. 

Lauinger graduated with a degree in education and currently teaches in the Roseville Area School District. An assistant coach with the Roseville girl's basketball team in pervious years, in 2013 he was named Class 4A State Assistant Coach of the Year and Class 4A, Section 5 Coach of the Year.
