Bethel University Athletics

John Buck is in his third season as an assistant coach with the Bethel University women's golf team and women's basketball team. Buck made an immediate impact with both squads assisting the women's golf team to their first-ever MIAC Championship and women's basketball to titles in the MIAC Playoffs and Regular Season. He retired from teaching and coaching in the Forest Lake Area School District following 33 years of service where he was a high school math teacher. 

As head boys golf coach, he led the Rangers to five state tournament qualifications placing second in 2007 and 2009. He also guided numerous individuals to state and coached two boys to state titles: Paul Moberg in 2009 and Max Kelly in 2011. In addition he was an assistant coach with the football and girls' basketball program while also leading the Forest Lake's chapter of the Fellowship of Christan Athletes (FCA).
