Before Bethel: Played varsity hockey for White Bear Lake High School. Was captain and earned All-Conference honors his senior year. After high school, played for the Fargo Moorhead Jets in the NAHL before coming to Bethel in January 2006.

At Bethel: Majoring in Social Studies Education and History.

About John:  Kovacs graduated from White Bear Lake Area High School in 2004.  During high school he participated and lettered in hockey, football, and baseball.  He also earned awards for Academic lettering and All-Conference for Hockey.  In his free time, John likes to fish, golf, read, and travel.  He is majoring in Social Studies Education and minoring in History.  After he graduates from Bethel University, Kovacs is planning on getting a teaching job somewhere.

Why Bethel?:  "I chose to come to Bethel because I wanted to be in a Christian atmosphere."
