Matt graduated from Cary Grove High School in 2010.  Prior to attending Bethel University, he was a student at the University of Wisconsin, Parkside.  In high school, Rowe participated in hockey and lacrosse.  He was recognized as 2010 Goalie of the Year and was a member of the 2010 Lacrosse State Championship.  He is majoring in economics.
