Rus Poser is in his eighth season on the Royals coaching staff. Poser oversees the Royals catchers, a position of great strength for Bethel over the past decade. Two Bethel catchers have gone on to sign professional contracts during Poser’s tenure. Royals backstops have totaled two MIAC All-Conference awards, one MIAC All-Defensive Team selection and a NCAA Division III National Player of the Week under Poser. Poser spent three seasons as the head coach of the Tri-City American Legion team, posting an 82-38 record. As a player, Poser was the starting catcher on the record setting 1999 Tri-City squad that captured the American Legion World Series title with an overall record of 64-5. Poser and his wife, Alex, live in Roseville, Minnesota with their daughter Ava.
