Royals Compete at Drake Relays, and Macalester Rider/Bolstorff Invitational

SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Bethel University men's track & field team had individuals compete at the Macalester Rider/Bolstorff Invitational, and the Drake Relays on Friday and Saturday.

RIDER/BOLSTORFF INVITATIONAL (RESULTS)

Adam Hokanson highlighted the Royals with a school-record 57.12m in the hammer throw, which put him in second place at the meet and No. 18 nationally. This surpassed his previous school record of 56.54 achieved in 2024.

Timmy Ball won the discus title with a 51.49m. The 400 meter dash championship belonged to Tony Haack, who registered a 50.22. Will Sportel followed with a third-place time of 51.44 in the 400 meter dash. Ball took third place in the shot put with a 15.41m, followed by Hokanson's sixth-place toss of 14.45m. 

Second place was the case for Luke Daenzer in the pole vault, where he cleared the bar at 3.75m. Parker Aurich followed with a third-place mark of 3.60m in the pole vault. 

The Royals continued to achieved third-place marks courtesy of Wes Myers in the javelin (41.59m), Hootie Hage in the 5000 meter run (15:02.65), and Trevor Stundahl in the 400 meter hurdles (56.33).

DRAKE RELAYS (RESULTS)

The 4x100 meter relay team of Landen Liu, Grant Nelson, Stephen Feig, and Cameron McConnell achieved a fifth-place time of 40.75 in the prelims, and a sixth-place time of 41.02 in the finals.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Elliott Kent, Caleb Ketterling, Brody Schelhaas, and Grant Nelson took third place with a 3:11.42 in the prelims, which ranks third in the country. They achieved a fifth-place time of 3:11.90 in the finals.

The Royals will compete at the MIAC Championship in the Decathlon on April 30-May 1 at Carleton College, as well as the Hamline Meet of the UnSaintly on Friday, May 1.
