Royals Get By Scots On The Road

ST. PAUL, MINN.—The Bethel University men's tennis team snuck past Macalester 4-3 on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Royals improve to 14-1, 2-1 MIAC, while the Scots fall to 6-6, 0-1 MIAC.

Bethel locked the match's opening point with a 2-1 advantage in doubles behind a 6-2 win from Micah Gustafson/Zach Bengtson at No. 3, and a 6-2 decision from Dylan Magistad/Carter Sheard at No.1.

Gustafson was victorious 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, while Kade Bishop continued to cement himself at the nation's top No. 5 player as he took care of business 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Rounding out the Bethel victories was Carter Sheard, who came out on top 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 at No. 1 singles.

The Royals will host Carleton at the Ona Orth Complex on Wednesday, April 1 at 4 p.m.
