ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men's track & field team had individuals compete at the University of Minnesota Snowshoe Open, and the St. Olaf Tostrud Classic on Friday.
UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SNOWSHOE OPEN (RESULTS)
Nick Bovitz broke the school record in the long jump with a fourth-place leap of 6.98m.
Logan Swanson prevailed with a career-best 8.21 in the 60 meter hurdle prelims, and an 8.25 in the finals. Swanson, who moves to No. 24 in NCAA Division III in the 60 hurdles, achieved third place with both of those times.
The 200 meter dash title belonged to Grant Nelson, who now ranks 10th in the country after he crossed the finish line at 21.79.
ST. OLAF TOSTRUD CLASSIC (RESULTS)
The titles rolled in for the Royals thanks to Timmy Ball's 16.57m in the weight throw, Dylan Hageman's 14.43m in the shot put, and Will Sportel's 22.88 in the 200 meter dash. The 4x200 meter relay team of Sam Raitz, Stephen Feig, Will Sportel, and Trevor Stundahl claimed the top time with a 1:29.28.
Second place was the case for Phil Conant in the weight throw (16.46m), Adam Hokanson in the shot put (14.21m), Stephen Feig in the pole vault (4.41m), Brody Schelhaas in the 400 meter dash (51.89), and Trevor Stundahl in the 200 meter dash (22.99).
A multitude of Royals achieved third place courtesy of Hokanson in the weight throw (16.29m), Jonathan Ritz in the shot put (13.97m), Lucas Frank in the pole vault (4.21m), Trevor Stundahl in the 60 meter hurdles (9.78), and Sam Raitz in the 60 meter dash (7.09).
The Royals will compete at the MIAC Championship, hosted by Carleton, in Northfield, Minnesota on Thursday, February 26 - Saturday, February 28.
