Royals Win Twin Cities Classic, Carson Hannestad Wins Individual Title With Bethel 54-Hole School Record

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University men's golf team captured the 2026 Twin Cities Classic Title, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus, with a three-day score of 870 (290-286-294, +2). The Elk River Golf Club, Le Sueur Country Club, and Minnesota Valley Country Club hosted the three-day tournament.

The titles continued to roll in for Bethel courtesy of Carson Hannestad, who represented Royals "B" Team with a first-place score of 208 (72-66-70, -9). Hannestad's 208 is a Bethel school record, and one stroke shy of the MIAC record of 207 achieved on two occasions. His single-round score of 66 in round two is two strokes shy of a Bethel record.

Bethel's top lineup was led by Tyler Hoppe, who finished tied for second place with a 213 (68-71-74, -4). Sander Ohe carded a 220 (76-70-74, +3), which put him in a tie for ninth place. Jesse Balc 221 (76-70-75, +4) and Zeke Roberts 221 (73-77-71, +4) were locked in a tie for 13th place. Rounding out the Bethel lineup was Charlie Solberg's 227 (73-75-79, +10), which put him in a tie for 28th place.

The Bethel "B" Team finished in third place with an 878 (294-293-291, +10). In addition to Hannestad, the "B" team was represented by Ben Mertz's 222 (71-76-75, +5), Avery Ross's 223 (75-75-73, +6), Adam Wagner's 227 (76-76-75, +10), and Parker Trobec's 240 (84-83-73, +23).

The Royals will compete at the 2026 MIAC Men's Golf Championship on Saturday, October 10 - Monday, October 12 at the Edinburgh USA Golf Course in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
