RESULTS
COLLEGEVILLE, MINN.—The Bethel University men's track & field team registered a first-place score of 155 at the College of Saint Benedict / Saint John's Invite in Collegeville, Minnesota on Friday.
The Royals accumulated 19 career bests in the meet.
The 60 meter run resulted in a third-place time of 7.04 for Stephen Feig. Logan Swanson (Career Best 8.38) and Pryce Ferrin (8.58) occupied the top two spots on the 60 meter hurdles podium. The 60 meter hurdle finals saw Ferrin take first place with an 8.37, while Swanson followed with a career best 8.45, which put him in second place. Blake Viesselman was next in third place with an 8.49.Â
Feig's stellar day continued with a first-place height of 4.42m in the pole vault, while Lucas Frank took third with a 3.82m.
Grant Nelson won the 200 meter dash title with a 22.10, followed by Will Sportel's career best 23.22 that put him in third place. The 400 meter dash was all Caleb Ketterling, who won the title with a 50.37. Elliott Kent followed with a second-place time of 50.92. The titles continued to roll in the 600 meter run courtesy of Victor Lelinga's 1:22.22.Â
The Royals swept the 1 mile run podium thanks to Hootie Hage (4:29.25), TJ Strubbe (Career Best 4:29.77), and Michael Schultz (4:38.40). Second place was in the cards for Evan Dallas, who achieved a career best 9:35.09. Third place was the case for Ben Rieder (5.73m) in the long jump.Â
The shot put resulted in a second-place toss of 14.72m for Adam Hokanson, and a third-place mark of 14.53m for Timmy Ball. Ball kept that momentum going with a first-place throw of 16.71m in the weight throw, followed by Phil Conant in second place with a 16.12m, and Adam Hokanson in third with a 15.92m.
The 4x400 meter relay squad of Elliott Kent, Anthony Checco de Souza, Grant Nelson, and Trevor Stundahl achieved first place after crossing the finish line at 3:23.79.
The Royals will return to action at the UW-River Falls Winter Classic on Saturday, February 7.
