No. 21 Royals Trounce Oles On The Road

NORTHFIELD, MINN.—The No. 21 Bethel University women's basketball team led from start-to-finish in a 76-50 road decision over St. Olaf on Wednesday night.

The Royals move to 11-3, 6-1 MIAC, while the Oles fall to 5-9, 0-7 MIAC.

It was another day at the office for Emily Erickson, who registered a team-leading 19 points on a 7-of-13 clip from the field and a 5-of-5 mark from the charity stripe. She engineered a Royals squad that registered a perfect 16-of-16 figure at the free throw line. The last time Bethel was perfect from the free throw line was a 61-44 win over Macalester on December 4, 2023 when they went 12-of-12.

Alaina Bonacquista's 12 points off the bench consisted of a 5-of-5 field goal percentage, and 2-of-2 free throw makes. She also chipped in two steals.

Cally Peterson nailed all five of her free throws en route to an 11-point performance, as well as six rebounds. Rounding out the double figure Royals was Colette Duininck, who had 10 points, eight assists, and two steals. Leading the way at the boards was Alli Born, who had seven as well as two assists and six points.

Elise Hahn paced St. Olaf with a double double 14 points, 10 boards, and two blocks. The Oles were held to a dismal .319 (15-of-47) field goal percentage and a .158 (3-of-19) three-point percentage. Bethel's defense forced 21 St. Olaf turnovers, while their offense committed just 11.

The Royals will travel to St. Scholastica on Saturday, January 17. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
