On a Friday afternoon at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex, Bethel Men's Tennis (14-5, 7-1 MIAC) celebrated Senior Day in thrilling fashion with a hard-fought 5–4 victory over Macalester (8-8, 3-5 MIAC), continuing their impressive MIAC run.
The Royals secured two doubles matches to start strong, with
Dylan Magistad and
Zack Chaffey picking up an 8–5 win at No. 2 doubles and Macalester taking tight matches at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.
In singles play, Bethel clinched the win with victories from
Carter Sheard (No. 1),
Dylan Magistad (No. 2),
Watson Sheard (No. 4), and
Zach Bengtson (No. 6).
Carter Sheard's comeback super-tiebreak win capped off an emotional and energetic day for the Royals.
The team now turns its attention to a regular season finale on Saturday, April 26, hosting #28 Gustavus at 3:30 p.m. in Arden Hills. A win would mark a historic finish to one of the strongest seasons in program history.
