ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The Bethel University baseball team extended its winning streak to 11 games Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Crown at Hargis Park.
Oran Hinkle provided the offense for the Royals, blasting his team leading sixth homer of the year in the sixth inning to give Bethel a 1-0 lead that ended up being the final.
Mark Anderson took the hill for the Royals, tossing six innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out three Crown batters to earn his fourth win of the year.
Oran Hinkle led off the bottom of the sixth and drove a 1-1 pitch deep to right field to get the Royals on the board first.
Jordan Axberg came on in relief of Anderson in the seventh and worked around a single and a walk to maintain the one run lead.
In the eighth Axberg worked out of a bases loaded jam and closed it down in the ninth retiring the Polars in order to secure the 1-0 win and his second save of the year.
The Royals are now 20-6 on the year and 9-1 in conference play.
