Softball closed out its spring break trip out west with a series split with Pomona-Pitzer. The Royals took game one 5-3, before falling in the nightcap 3-2. Baseball picked up its second shutout victory of the week defeating Wheaton 5-0.

SOFTBALL: Bethel 5, Pomona-Pitzer 3
The Sagehens went up early with a two-run homer in the home half of the first. BU responded in the fourth, scoring on a Pomona-Pitzer error that extended the inning and then tied it on a wild pitch one batter later.

The Royals put up a three-spot in the sixth with an RBI single from
Ellie Baker and a two-RBI double off the bat of
Mandalyn Franks.

The Sagehens added one in the seventh before a pair of flyouts ended it.

Dominique Walicke improved to 5-3 in the circle with a complete game effort. She struck out five while walking three and giving up seven hits.

A comeback effort from the Royals in the seventh wasn't even as the three errors defensively came back to haunt them.

The Sagehens put up two unearned runs in the second and one in the sixth.

The Royals had their chances to break through on the scoreboard but left the bases loaded in the fourth and two in scoring position in the sixth.

Autumn Earney's two-run homer to left in the seventh gave BU a chance before a flyout with runners at first and second ended it.

Xavier Lorite drove in BU's first two runs with a single to the gap in right in the first and a groundout in the third.

The Royals added three more insurance runs in the sixth as
Matt Friesen drove in one with a single to center and
Nolan Jurgenson drove in two with a single to right.

The Lyons had a scattered seven hits as
Jackson Hunter and
Michael Meadows combined for the shutout. Hunter went seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Meadows tossed the final two frames, where he struck out three and gave up one hit.
