ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The No. 20 Bethel University women's basketball team moved their win streak to five games following a 73-67 victory over UW-River Falls at the Robertson Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Royals improve to 5-1, 3-0 MIAC, while the Falcons fall to 6-4, 0-0 WIAC.

Five of the game's whopping 10 lead changes occurred in the opening quarter, when Zoey Buchan put the Falcons in front 15-14 with 1:52 left, which kick started a 10-3 run. Buchan scored all 10 points in that run, which pushed River Falls' lead to 22-17 with 8:33 on the second-quarter clock. The Falcons didn't relinquish that advantage for the remainder of the first half as they maintained a five-point, 31-26 halftime edge.
Both teams combined for a dismal 6-of-27 (.222) shooting mark in the third quarter. The Royals managed to grab their first lead since halfway through the first quarter off Colette Duininck's two free throws at the 1:46 mark of the third, which made the score 41-39. They had the upper hand 18-13 over the Falcons in the third quarter, which ended with a 42-42 tie.
The fourth quarter opened with a 15-7 Bethel run that gave them their largest lead of the game, an eight-point 65-57 advantage with 4:19 left. It was enough cushion for the Royals in a 73-67 win.
Alli Born had a double double 12 points and 10 boards for the Royals, while Emily Erickson led the way with 18 points as well as seven rebounds. Duininck added 17 points and three assists. Elly Schmitz nearly had a double double with 15 points and eight rebounds. Macey Littlefield paced Bethel with six assists. The Royals shot .404 (21-of-52) in the game.
Buchan had a game-high 24 points and seven assists for the Falcons.
Bethel will face UW-La Crosse in a neutral-site contest in Wisconsin Dells on Friday, December 19 at 6 p.m.
