BLAINE, MINN.—The Bethel University men's hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to UW-Eau Claire at the National Sports Center - Bethel University Arena on Saturday evening.
The Royals' first loss of the season puts them at 2-1-0, while the Blugolds improve to 1-1-0.

Both teams combined for 73 shots in the game, with Eau Claire holding the slight 38-35 advantage. It didn't result in any goals until the third period courtesy of Tyler Herzberg from Leo Bacallao and Kade Peterson at 00:14, and Easton Inglis unassisted at 9:20 that sealed a 2-0 victory for the Blugolds.
Both teams combined for six penalties, with Eau Claire being called for six of them. Bethel's Tyler Braccini fired a game-high nine shots on goal.
Marco Duronio made 36 saves in net for Bethel, while Max Gutjahr stopped 35 shots between the pipes for Eau Claire.
The Royals will travel to UW-Stout on Friday, November 14. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
