DULUTH, Minn. – Despite out shooting the Saints by a 60-21 margin, the Bethel University women's hockey team fell to St. Scholastica 3-0 Saturday evening in Duluth.
 
The Royals' penalty kill went 5-for-5 on the night. Bethel had one power play, coming in the opening period, and couldn't put a tally on the scoreboard despite five shots on frame.
 
After a scoreless first, CSS broke the scoreless tie with 1:45 left before the second intermission. The Saints added an insurance goal 4:58 into the third before adding an empty netter with under four minutes left in regulation.
 
The Royals also won 42 of the 72 faceoffs. Brynn Swenson won 17 of those.
 
UP NEXT
The Royals take on No. 6th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus next weekend with the series opener taking place at the Super Rink in Blaine Friday night at 7 p.m.
