BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team fell to Hamline Saturday evening 6-3.
Hamline opened up the game by scoring four straight, with one in the first, two in the second, and one early in the third. Bethel responded with a goal from
Tyler Kostelecky before scoring short-handed over 90 seconds later.
Hamline pushed the lead back to 5-2 with just under five minutes left in regulation.
Joe Westlund lit up the lamp 14 seconds after the Pipers did but that would be it for the Royals.
BU was 0-for-2 on the power play and was 4-for-5 on the penalty kill. The Royals outshot the Pipers 32-22.
The Royals fall to 3-4-1 on the year and 1-1-0 in MIAC play. BU is back on the ice on Saturday, Nov. 30, clashing with St. Olaf in a non-conference outdoor event. Puck drop at the St. Louis Park Recreation Outdoor Center is set for 5 p.m.
