BLAINE, Minn. – Tyler Braccini's first career hat tricked paced the Bethel University men's hockey team to its first win of the season defeating Wisconsin-Stout, 5-3, in the home opener Friday evening at the National Sports Center.
Braccini tallied a goal in each period scoring BU's first goal of the night 8:15 in and capping it out with an empty netter in the final seconds.
A power play goal from the Bluedevils late in the first sent the teams into the first intermission knotted up at 1-1. Braccini broke that tie with a power play goal with 11:50 left in the second periods.
Chase Beacom got his first collegiate goal not long after scoring on a pass from Jakc Brown.
Stout tallied the second's final two goals scoring on the power play at the 11:30 mark and equalizing it at 3-3 with under four minutes to go.
Jack Brown provided the eventual game-winning goal just a 1:25 into the third.
Marco Duronio picked up the win in the crease with 14 saves.
Bethel wraps up the homestand Saturday afternoon hosting Wisconsin-Superior in a 3 p.m. puck drop.
