BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel women's hockey team took home its first victory in the weekend series against Marian University, 2-0. The win propels the Royals to a 6-3-1 overall record on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a quiet first period,
Bella Webb kicked off the scoring for the Royals at 11:22 in the second period from a pass from
Sydney Eckert. The Royals headed into the third period with a slight one-goal lead.
• Bethany Velasco gave the Royals insurance when she added a second and final goal just four minutes into the third period with assists going to
Dylan Grilz and
Evie Sellner.
• Reigning MIAC Defensive Player of the Week
Anna Hanson made 22 saves in net, earning her second shutout of the season. Seven of those stops came with the Sabres on the power play as BU's penalty kill went 5-for-5.
