ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – On a sunny afternoon at Hargis Park, the Bethel University baseball team dropped its final non-conference matchup the year to Northwestern, 13-5.
The visiting Eagles used an eight-run fourth inning to kick start its offense while the Royals used seven different arms over the stretch of the game.
Ty Koehn put Bethel on the board in the bottom of the fourth taking the first pitch he saw and sending it over the right field fence for a two-run shot.
The Royals matched the Eagles two runs in the fifth with back-to-back RBI singles form
Matthew Carlsen and
Tommy Friesen.

Now 28-9 overall on the year, the Royals will "play for the pile" on Saturday hosting Concordia in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Bethel needs one win to clinch the MIAC regular season title and earn the No. 1 seed in the MIAC playoffs. The Royals will also honor their senior class following the conclusion of game one.
