ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – After claiming its third MIAC Regular Season Championship in the last seven seasons, the Bethel University baseball team enters as the No. 1 seed in the four-team double-elimination MIAC Playoffs set to take place Thursday-Saturday at CHS Field in St. Paul, Minn.
The Royals open the tournament against fourth-seeded Concordia on Thursday, May 12 at 3 p.m. Playing in game two on Thursday is second-seeded Saint John's and third seeded Gustavus Adolphus.

Tickets can be purchased in advance via the St. Paul Saints website. Prices are $10 for adults and $6 for students (with student ID). Note that all tickets are initially priced as general admission and student discounts will be applied at checkout. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate on game days.

MIAC PLAYOFF HISTORY
• The Royals are making their ninth overall appearance since 2000 and have now appeared in four of the last five playoffs.
• BU holds one MIAC Playoff Championship title to its name doing so in 2018 after beating top-seeded Saint John's, 8-0, in the championship game and going 3-0 in the tournament.
• It's the third time since 2015 the Royals are the No. 1 seed after winning the regular-season title in 2015 and 2017. They are looking to become the first No. 1 seed to win it since 2014.
THE STAFF
• For the fifth time in the last seven seasons, BU led the MIAC in ERA doing so this year with a 3.36 mark that ranks 12th nationally.
• With a 2.87 strikeout-to-walk ratio, the Royals rank second in the MIAC and 17th nationally
• Bethel's pitching staff rarely allows a free pass at 2.52 walks per nine innings. That number is the sixth best in NCAA Division III and first in the MIAC.
• Freshman right-hander
Max Sutter and senior right-hander
Marcus Krupke each post a 6-2 record for the second most wins in the MIAC.
• Sutter's 1.83 ERA is second-best in the conference and is 29th nationally. He's tossed five complete games this year, 10th most in DIII, while his 8.43 strikeout-to-walk ratio is 18th nationally.
• Krupke has only giving up four walks in 47 innings of work through 10 starts.
• Senior left hander
Ty Koehn has been superb all season but has been all but untouchable in conference play to a tune of a 3-0 record in four starts with a 0.87 ERA and 26 strikeouts to just four walks and 15 hits in 20.2 MIAC innings
IN THE RECORD BOOKS
• Head coach
Brian Raabe's all-time record in his 11 seasons at Bethel is 262-143 (.647). The 262 wins are currently tied with Ken Neuhaus who coached the Royals from 1989-02 where he went 262-272-6.
• BU has hit the 30-win mark for the fourth time under head coach
Brian Raabe. The program record for wins in a season is 33 recorded back in 2017.

Matthew Carlsen became the Royals single-season hits leader with his lone hit in game two against Concordia this past weekend. His 65 hits surpass Bryce Marquardt's 63 from 2016. Carlsen is also five runs away from tying the single season record of 53 put up by Jon Nuss from 2000.

Justin Winterfeldt has driven in 49 runs this season putting him two shy of the single-season record currently held by Josh Gilbert from 1992. Belting 10 long balls this year, he also moves into the top five of the single season list and is three shy of tying the record.
