ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethel University baseball team produced a combined 23 runs on 27 hits in its twin bill sweep of Hamline Thursday afternoon at CHS Field.

The Royals had nine different players tally a RBI in the 15-1 opening victory before another quick start paced them to an 8-4 win in game two.

Justin Winterfeldt had himself a day at the plate going 4-for-9 with two home runs, seven RBI and three runs.

Winterfeldt began the day with a double to center scoring
Matthew Carlsen all the way from first after leading off the game with a walk.

James Woelfel's RBI single and
Keenan Hodgkin's RBI double held the Royals put up an early three spot.

Ty Koehn retired nine of the first 10 he faced, striking out five in the process.

The Royals helped him with some two-out production in the fourth where
Tommy Friesen drove in
Nick Kulseth with a single to center.

Bethel sent 13 hitters to the plate in the top of the fifth where they put up a spot. The winning was highlighted by Winterfeldt's three-run shot over the left-center wall.

Two more runs in the sixth by BU forced Hamline to go through six different pitchers.

Logan McDonald tossed the final two innings for the Royals giving up one run in the seventh.

Game 2 | Bethel 8, Hamline 4
The Royals once again stuck a three spot up on the board in their first at bat. That was large in part to Winterfedlt's second home run of the game sending a two-run bomb over the center field wall. Â Hodgkin drove in the third run with a sacrifice fly.

Jordan Krupke got the start on the bump where he retired the first seven before giving up a hit.

Bethel got an unearned run in the top of the fourth before the Pipers got one back in the home half of the inning scoring its leadoff double.

Krupke eliminated a leadoff walk in the fifth producing a double play ball. A hit by pitch and then a flyout ended his day before eventually picking up his fifth win of the year.

A four-run sixth for BU built them an 8-1 advantage. Bethel produced the runs in various ways with a single, double, groundout and sacrifice fly.
The Royals used four arms out of the bullpen for the final four innings. Hamline scored one in the sixth and two in the ninth.

Now 23-4 on the year and 10-2 in MIAC play, the Royals host Central (IA) this weekend for a 3-game non-conference series beginning Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
