WINONA, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team traveled to Saint Mary's University Saturday afternoon for the regular season finale and the two teams were unable to score a goal, finishing with a 1-1 tie. The Cardinals scored on the third shootout attempt to win the shootout 1-0 and take the extra point in the MIAC standings. Senior goalie Mallory Tidona made 34 saves in the game for Bethel, her fourth shutout of the season.
The Royals now stand at 7-10-2 overall and 5-6-2 in the MIAC which is good for the seventh seed in next weeks MIAC Playoffs. The Royals will host a first round matchup with No 10 seed St. Olaf College on Wednesday, February 23rd at 7 p.m. in Bethel University Arena. Saint Mary's finishes in third place in the MIAC standings with a 9-5-2 record and 12-9-2 overall.
