ROGERS, Minn. – Picking up three doubles points early, the Bethel University men's tennis team got four wins at singles leading them to a 7-2 non-conference victory over Wisconsin-Superior Saturday at Rogers Tennis Center.
The No. 2 doubles duo of
Luke Wyly and
Jacob Lukkarila tallied BU's first point winning the final seven games after trailing 1-2. Freshmen
Andrew Holmes and
Steven Benoy at No. 3 doubles picked up their first collegiate win as a pair while Erik Bckers and
Jason Reilly at No. 1 gave BU a 3-0 lead.
Freshman
Brett Eliason picked up BU's first point in singles play with his first collegiate victory at No. 6 singles. Benoy secured the victory for the Royals collecting his first collegiate win at No. 5 singles cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 decision.
Luke Wyly (No. 4) and
Jason Reilly (No. 2) picked up the Royals remaining singles points.
The Royals jump into MIAC play Saturday, Feb. 19 at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter.
