NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team completed an MIAC series sweep of St. Olaf College Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over the Oles.
Brynn Swenson scored for Bethel just 2:17 into the game and that score would be all the Royals needed as
Mallory Tidona pitched her second straight shutout making 25 saves. For Tidona, it is the second time in her career she has posted back-to-back shutouts and her sixth shutout overall. For the season Tidona has an excellent 2.12 goals against average and a .929 save percentage in eight starts. Swenson's goal was the first collegiate goal for the freshman from Eastview High School.
Makenzie Baker and
Taylor Ryan assisted on the score.
The win bumps the Royals overall record up to .500 at 5-5 with a 3-2 mark in the MIAC. The Royals will travel to St. Peter, Minnesota on Tuesday evening for a non-conference game against No. 6-ranked Gustavus Adolphus. The Royals next MIAC action will be next Friday and Saturday against Hamline University.
