Bethel Drops Season Finale to St. Thomas

BLAINE, Minn. – Bethel University men's hockey team finished its abbreviated 2021 season Friday evening inside Bethel University Arena falling to St. Thomas, 5-1.

Both teams spent their fair share of time in the box, but both teams held strong on the penalty kill going into the first intermission scoreless.

St. Thomas broke through midway through the second with their first power play goal of the night. Four minutes later BU tied it up at 1-1 after the teams skated 4-on-4.

Jarrett Cammarata fired one to the back of the net off a nice feed from Jory McWilliams who controlled a pass from Michael Piehler. UST added one more goal in the second where they took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.

The Royals couldn't get anything going in the third. UST expanded its lead to 3-1 before scoring an empty net and power play goal in the final minute.

BU finishes the year 2-6 overall.
