ST. PAUL - One night after winning in overtime the Bethel University women's hockey team fell in overtime at St. Catherine's University. The Wildcats scored just 48 seconds into the extra period to split the MIAC series with a 2-1 victory over the Royals. Both goals in regulation came in the second period with the Wildcats scoring first and the Royals tying the game up in the last minute of the second. Both teams goals also came on the power play. Neither team was able to score again however until the three-on-three overtime period when St. Kate's scored the game winner.
Grace Halvorson scored the Royals lone goal. Halvorson also scored in Friday nights Bethel victory to go along with an assist on the Royals overtime winner.
Megan Johnson and
Lexi DeBace assisted Halvorson.
Mallory Tidona made 31 saves in net for the Royals.
Bethel falls ot 1-5 in the MIAC and 3-4 overall while St. Kate's improves to 1-5 in the MIAC and 5-6 overall. Bethel will conclude the 2021 portion of their schedule with a non-conference contest with the College of Saint Benedict on Wednesday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in Bethel University Arena.
