Hagstrom Gets First Collegiate Double-Double in Royals Loss to Augsburg

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Despite a double-double performance from freshman forward Lydia Hagstrom, the Bethel University women's basketball team dropped its four straight game falling to Augsburg 65-61.

Off the bench, Hagstrom poured in a team-leading 14 points and 14 rebounds for her first career doube-double. Hayden Glander added nine points and three points off the bench as well. Bella Williams dished out a career-high 11 assists.

A three-plus minute scoring drought in the opener quarter by Bethel allowed the Auggies to garner a 19-12 lead. The Royals responded well in the second using a 10-0 run to get the lead back at 22-1. That lead didn't last long as Augsburg put it back at eight with a 32-24 advantage at the break.

Bethel erased the deficit with a 3-pointer from Autumn Earney at the 3:25 mark. Once again BU didn't hold the lead for long, but kept it within reach trailing 46-44 after three quarters.

Augsburg had its biggest lead of the fourth at 55-47 with 7:17 remaining. Three separate times the Royals pulled within two but the Auggies responded each time on the other end of the court.

The Royals got 31 of its 61 points from the bench while also leading the rebound battle 40-29. Bethel turned its 14 offensive rebounds into 12 second chance points.

Now 1-4 on the year and 0-2 in MIAC play, BU travels to Hamline on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
