BLAINE, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team continued where they left off on Friday with another big victory over Northland College by a 5-1 score. The Royals scored all five of their goals in the first two periods and totaled 54 shots on goal. Five different Royals scored the five goals while freshman goaltender Anna Hanson made 26 saves to earn the win in net in her first collegiate action.
Veterans
Emily Roder and Grace Halvorsen scored goals for the Royals in the first period as they built a 2-0 lead. In the second
Annie Gydesen and
Makenzie Baker sandwiched power play goals around the LumberJills lone goal of the game.
Lexi DeBace scored the final goal of the game late in the second. The third period had a combined seven penalties and no scoring.
The Royals open the 2021-22 season at 2-0 and will host a pair of games again next weekend when they welcome Aurora University to Bethel University Arena. Friday's game will be at 7 p.m. while Saturday will be a 2 p.m. puck drop.
