Men's Tennis Storms back Defeating UW-La Crosse 5-4

MINNEAPOLIS - The heart and determination was on full display for the Bethel University men's tennis team today fighting for a 5-4 comeback win over UW-La Crosse after trailing 2-1 in doubles.

The Royals completed the comeback winning four third set super tiebreakers to take the match. Now on a four-match winning streak, BU improves to 6-2 on the year.

Doubles
The Royals took an early deficit as they lost two out of three double matches but it would not effect them as they bounced back in singles play. The lone victory came at No. 3 doubles as Tyler Creelman and Jacob Lukkarila were able to dominate their match and take an 8-1 victory.

Singles
BU came back and fought hard in singles as they were able to win four of their matches. There was not shortage of drama as all three matches went into a third set super tiebreaker.

Sophomore Erik Beckers was one of those who went to a tie breaker and his determination lead to a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 win. Jason Reilly was also a fan of the drama winning his match 6-3, 0-6, 10-4 at the No. 3 singles spot. Lukkarila also went to a tie breaker and was able to edge out a 6-4, 6-1, 10-6 victory at the No. 5 singles spot. Joey Mueller had to go quite the distance dropping a second set tiebreaker before eding out UWL's Joshua Williams 12-10 in the super tiebreaker for the win.
