ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 9-0 victory over Hamline University Sunday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
The Royals enter postseason play with an 18-4 overall record while posting their best Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record in program history at 8-2. Bethel earned the No. 3 seed in the MIAC Playoffs and will host No. 6-seeded St. Olaf Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Regionally ranked
Grace Riermann and
Maggie Riermann won the No. 1 doubles match 8-4.
Jill Weinzettel and
Mackenzie Novak continued their winning ways with an 8-1 decision at No. 2 doubles while
Sydney Rott and
Meghan Schuler won the No. 3 doubles match by an identical score.
Bethel took the singles matches in straight sets.
Maggie Riermann and Novak both gave up just one game while Weinzettel at No. 4 singles did not drop a single game.
Hayley Helberg improved to 6-2 on the year with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles while
Kally Peterson picked up her first win of the season at No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-1.
