Spring break 2019 nears the end for Bethel Athletics as many teams made their way to warmer climates for the week away from the Bethel University campus in Arden Hills. Softball wrapped up its trip going a perfect 10-0 while baseball took on Williams College. While this is our final blog post for #BUSB19 make sure you keep up with all our spring sports on

Softball: Bethel 23, University of Minnesota Morris 1 (Box Score) | Bethel 11, University of Maine-Farmington 4 (Box Score)
On the final day of completion in Clermont, Fla. the Royals continued their hot hitting ways. BU leaves the Sunshine State a perfect 10-0 while outscoring its opponents 105-29.
In game one, BU was two runs shy of tying the school record with its 23-1 defeat of Minnesota Morris. Bethel was efficient in the second scoring 18 runs on 17 hits.
Jamie Axelberg and
Kayla Hokanson both launched three-run homers during the offensive onslaught.
Ellie Rogers picked up the win out of the pen. Starter
Hannah Schmidt tossed 2.1 innings of scoreless work.
Bethel put up crooked numbers in the first, third, fifth and sixth en route to an 11-4 win over University of Maine-Farmington. Axelberg homered for the second time capping off a 3-for-4 day with six RBIs.
Katie Stewart's bases clearing double aided a four-run fifth inning before the Royals put up two in the sixth.
Allie Fauth was 3-for-5 on the day with five runs while
Mariah Uphoff went 5-for-6 with five runs to round out the Royals top two hitters.
Maddie Fauth led the bottom of the order going 3-for-4 a double and a RBI
Baseball: Williams 12, Bethel 3 (Box Score)
After giving up two runs in the opening frame the Royals responded back with three runs in the home half of the second. Bethel took advantage of a pair of walks and an Ephs error to set up
Caleb Brandt to single though the left side giving the Royals a 3-2 lead.
Williams starter Jack Bohen kept the Royals off the scoreboard the rest of the way. The Ephs scored 10 unanswered runs the rest of the way highlighted by a five-run sixth inning to take the win 12-3.
The Royals will close out their 12-game stretch tomorrow against the No. 3-ranked College of Wooster. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. ET and can be seen on the BU Royal Network.
