BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Fourty-five
Bethel University student-athletes have earned Academic All-MIAC honors, announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
In total, 427 student-athletes were recognized by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) who competed in fall sports across the conference. To be eligible for Academic All-MIAC selection, students must be in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while participating in 50 percent of the team's overall varsity regular-season contests. Cross country student-athletes are required to finish in the overall top 100 or their team's top seven at the 2018 MIAC Cross Country Championship.
Bethel honorees included 12 individuals from the football team, 10 from men's soccer, eight from men's cross country, seven from women's soccer, six from volleyball and two from women's cross country.
Of Bethel's fall honorees, Joren Eklund of men's soccer held a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
