ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Bethel University hosted Macalester College Saturday afternoon for what's scheduled to be the second of four home doubleheaders in a five-day span.
The Royals (13-17, 6-10 MIAC) came out swinging in the first and went on to defeat the Scots (11-29, 5-17 MIAC) by a final score of 10-5. But the second game proved to be much harder the first and BU ended up dropping Saturday's finale by a final score of 10-13, despite a five-run seventh inning.

Bethel opened the first game with one run in the first, another in the second, and six runs in the third, before adding two more insurance runs in the fifth.

Bethel cut into the lead with two runs in the third and one in the fifth to make the score 7-4, but Macalester scored four runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to secure the 13-10 victory. Bethel scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run at the plate with one out, but the Scots' pitcher was able to get a strikeout and a lineout to end the threat.
