Men's Tennis Falls to Carleton Despite Strong Start

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Bethel University men's tennis hosted Carleton College in an afternoon match Sunday. The Royals (5-8, 1-6 MIAC) fell to the Knights (17-3, 5-1 MIAC) by a final score of 2-7.

Both BU match wins came in doubles play as No. 1 doubles team Hunter Fernelius and Jakob Bartels won 8-6 while Nick Kantor and Zeke Delain took No. 3 doubles 8-3. Singles play didn't go the Royals way Sunday as they dropped all six matches. Peter Lindberg nearly pulled out a win for BU in the No. 6 match but fell in a third set tie breaker with a final of 6-1, 6-7(5), 8-10.

The Royals are back in action Monday, April 23 with a matchup against the University of St. Thomas. This Senior Day contest is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Ona Orth Complex. The Tommies enter the match with a 6-8 record having lost four of their last five.
